What we check
- 1Traction
- Users, revenue growth and retention. Is it real demand or a demo?
- 2Business model
- Pricing, unit economics, and whether AI actually drives revenue.
- 3Real AI or wrapper
- Proprietary AI, or a thin layer over someone else's model?
- 4AI models used
- Which models, from which providers, and what happens if one changes price or terms.
- 5AI costs
- Cost per customer today and at 10× usage. Do the margins hold?
- 6Data rights
- Is the company allowed to use the data its AI is built on?
- 7Security
- Agent permissions, prompt injection, data leaks.
- 8Regulation
- Exposure under US state AI laws and the EU AI Act.

Key finding. 92% of requests go to one external model with no fallback. A 2× price rise would cut gross margin from 71% to 52%.
Questions investors ask
What is AI due diligence?
A review of a startup before an investment or acquisition, focused on its AI: traction, the business model, which models it uses and what they cost, whether the AI is its own or a wrapper, data rights, security and regulatory exposure.
How long does it take?
The AI report takes about 10 minutes. A deeper review with code access and a session with the founders is added on request.
Do you need access to the startup's code?
Read-only access gives the most reliable answer. Without it, we work from architecture reviews, demos, usage and cost data, and mark which findings are less certain.
Where do you work with investors?
With venture funds, family offices, corporate and sovereign investors in the United States, the Gulf and Southeast Asia. Reports are in English, with Arabic on request.
Is our deal information confidential?
Yes. We sign an NDA before any review.
